HGSounds - Cassetto (KONTAKT) - Full Version

The idea of Cassetto is to create a synthesizer that has an old and slightly "spoiled" sound, as well as a rather interesting architecture. The end result is a synthesizer with its own character and the ability to reproduce very unique tones. Although Kontakt is often used for complex samples, Cassetto uses sampled oscillators, so it's a real synthesizer and all sounds are created in the same way as any other subtractive synthesizer. Although Cassetto comes with 200 presets, it is also a synthesizer on which you can create your own. The analogue Elektron Analogue Four was chosen for sampling the oscillators as it has a good selection of strong analog waveforms. Each waveform was recorded 4 octave notes on a very old and worn cassette using a JVC CD-1635 MK II cassette deck. Then everything was recorded to the computer via Focusrite OctoPre and each 4 second sample was manually looped for different durations to provide multitextured oscillators. Oscillators were created from detuned and mixed groups of single cycles. We also tried to be a little inaccurate with looping the individual loops to give them a bit of a frustrated, broken sound, though it's almost invisible.
